How to read this table
Rates shown are for regular cumulative FDs below ₹3 crore; banks revise them with the repo cycle, and special tenures (e.g. 444 days) often pay more than the round tenures listed here. Senior citizens typically earn 0.50% extra across tenures. Remember that FD interest is taxable at your slab — a 7% FD nets about 4.9% at the 30% slab — and deposits are insured only up to ₹5 lakh per bank under DICGC.
